How do you do when you can't forget you ex boyfriend?

For me,I think I must use a long time and I think the time can't help me,if I didn't try to forget good memories or the gift that I received from him.My friend suggest to get rid of all of gift and let it go(It's good way for me).I think I should open-heart with someone that who understand me and beside me and better than him.

It was hard to me at first because everything we did together was in my head.
Moreover, I could see everything we did when I just looked around.
