What is your favorite foreign culture(s) that you’ve ever seen?
Thu Apr 12, 2018 4:55 pm
I had a presentation about cultures last few weeks ago. While I was looking for some cultures to present, I found some cultures which are so interesting!
I want to say the Haka dance is my favorite one. It belongs to Maori people who are originally from New Zealand. I love their moves and the way they perform this dance. They have to stick their tongue out, make a feirce face, and pretend like they are angry. I think it’s kinda unuqie and I wish I could learn how to dance someday.

I appreciate Did de los muertos or day of the dead in Mexico. I think this cultural tradition present the death in different perspective and I like it so much. In this festival, the death is portrayed as the normal stage in life and people pay respect to the spirits of their ancestors. In my opinion, this festival keeps young generation close to their parents and also their ancestors who might have died.

The foreign culture that I ever have seen about the Lao ways of dressing.
Costumes depend on gender and age.
Lao women wear the silk skirts, blouses and scarves to attend important ceremonies.
Lao men wear salong, big large pants or the peasant pants to attend the important ceremonies.
Paekaoma is used for cleaning the body, covering the head and others.

I like the dance in Balinese culture. Balinese dance is interesting dancing to see.
I used to see this dancing on Youtube, but I've never seen the real show of Balinese dance.

I have known this culture on the internet. The Japanse culture is very attractive to me. It is the culture that always promotes their original tradition. Japan still keep the beautiful history to show the visitors.
